The aliens are coming. Are we ready? - by Vijaya Schartz
The mainstream scientists finally agree that it would be impossible for us to be the only intelligent race in the universe. And it seems that many ancient texts all over the world speak of visitations of powerful gods wielding thunderbolts, and other strange beings, some blue of skin, some with many arms, some with wings, others who emerged from the sea… who possessed incredible technology and waged war in the skies on their chariots of fire.

Since Chariots of the gods, by Erich Von Daniken was published in the seventies, science is now answering many of his questions. Ancient mythologies might have described aliens descending from the sky, and their advanced technology was interpreted as divine powers. Some ancient ruins show signs of being destroyed by nuclear weapons millennia ago, and are still radioactive.
In the light of our quick progress and our push for establishing colonies on the Moon and on Mars, it stands to reason that, if they are watching us, these other galactic races with incredible technology will want to make official contact with us… before we develop into a full-blown interplanetary race and interfere with their domain.
It may be that we will colonize the closest planets long before they make contact with us. What will we do when they make contact? How shall we communicate? Do we have a plan?
In the movie ARRIVAL, a linguist is tasked to decipher the language of aliens attempting to communicate with us. Since language is intrinsically linked to a culture (believe me, as a French person living in the US, and writing in English, I find it to be the truth) understanding an alien race would mean learning about, and understanding their culture… to determine their intents.
Why did they come? What do they want? Are they friendly and want to study us, like the adorable alien in E.T. or have they come to eat us and plunder our resources, like in INDEPENDENCE DAY?
How will the Military react? What if they have a different notion of time? What if they want us to get to their level and offer new knowledge and advanced technology? What if they are our creators through DNA manipulation, and are checking on our progress? Will we pass the test or will they destroy us with a great flood or a plague? Are we evolved enough to understand their motives?
In a speech to the U.N. in 1987, President Ronald Reagan said, “I occasionally think how quickly our differences worldwide would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world.“ Carl Sagan, Winston Churchill, Stephen Hawking, all considered the likelihood of our first contact.
But how can negotiations happen between galactic cultures, without a world government able to represent the entire planet? It’s impossible when so many factions are at odds, when they wage political and religious wars against each other, and the world leaders have a selfish appetite for power.
Some leaked reports say the governments of several countries are already working with different groups of aliens and replicating their technologies. Others say there are many alien factions as well, and they are at odds with each other.

There is even a documented instance when Aliens attempted to make peaceful contact with the White House over half a century ago, but the powers of the time were not ready to make peace with the rest of the world or publicly acknowledge the presence of aliens.
If World Peace is a condition for our admission in the Galactic Confederation of Planets, I will visualize World Peace, and hope I’m still around to witness this momentous event that will forever unite the Human Race and give us a new direction.
In the meantime, I write Sci-fi where Humans have already sprung into space and rub shoulders with alien races and cultures. Aliens, Gods, and Romance in Ancient Egypt - by Vijaya Schartz

GODS OF EGYPT explodes on the big screen and just blew my mind. Love, passion, hatred, revenge, greed, power hunger, and redemption. It has it all, even humor. I loved the script, the storytelling, and the fresh take on the myth. I like that it respects the legend. I also like the fact that the sun god Ra resides in space, on what looks very much like an alien spaceship. The gods are much taller than humans, and liquid gold flow in their veins. Cool
Don't wait for the DVD. This super-production, reminiscent of the great movies of the fifties with high pagentry and lots of extras, must be seen on the big screen, preferably in 3D. Today, of course, we use digital images and blue screens, and the result is amazing. Morphing gods larger than life and alien ships in orbit are possible, and incredible creatures come alive. We understand why the Egyptians revered their gods when they exhibited such powers.

I am a new fan of Nicolaj Coster-Waldau playing Horus. Gerard Butler makes a formidable evil brother Set, and the goddess of love, Hathor is played by the beautiful Elodie Yung. As for the mortal couple, Brenton Thwaites and Courtney Eaton as Kek and Zaya, they have the right amount of innocence, chemistry, faith, courage, and determination.
I like the fact that this movie doesn't focus on the better known story of the dismemberment of Osiris by his brother Set. Instead it features Osiris's son and rightful king, the god Horus. Portrayed as a happy go lucky rich boy who loves parties, Horus has a rocky start when on his coronation day, Set kills his father, beats up Horus and steals his all-seeing eyes, his woman... as well as his kingdom... which Set quickly exploits and enslaves for his own aggrandizement. Blind and dispossessed, Horus falls into depression and despair. It will take the example and encouragement of two of his fiercest worshipers to give him the strength and courage to fight back and free his people.
How relevant to our times is this story? More than you think. Greed and power hunger are still a strong motivation among the elite. Love can still move mountains. A few courageous souls can defy their betters and win great battles against impossible odds. Besides, we still honor the old myths. We only have to look at our dollar bill to see the eye of Horus, the all-seeing eye, atop the Egyptian pyramid. Where do you think this came from?

Crop circles, evidence of alien presence? by Vijaya Schartz
The first representation of a crop circle comes from a Seventeenth Century wood carving, and represents the devil cutting a circle in the crops. How else, could such a circle have appeared overnight? This phenomenon, however may have occurred much earlier. It could also have inspired the construction of circular and concentric structures, like Stonehenge, in an area where crop circles are frequent.
Detractors will tell you the circles are man made, that two British men claimed to have made them, and it is likely they made a few as a hoax. But the fake circles do not show steep increase in radiation levels, nor the strange blisters at the bend of the stalks, indicating a heat or radiation process. Besides, the phenomenon is not particular to one area or to one time in history. It happened for centuries and still happens all over the world. Usually, small spheres of light are seen over the field at night, and the circles seem to appear instantly. When day breaks, the circle is here for all to see, and curious visitors find out the energy around the field interferes with their electronic equipment. Sometimes small flying balls of light hover around the field, as if someone is remotely watching the native's reactions to the phenomenon.
Some of the motifs of these crop circles were found on ancient artifacts, usually considered sacred, as if coming from a higher power, a higher intelligence, usually the gods. Also, not all of them are actual circles.
An interesting fact is the increasing sophistication of these circles, demonstrating ever more complicated high mathematical principles, as if testing our knowledge and technical advancement. Could some alien intelligence be trying to communicate with us, like overseers checking on our advancement?
This one, in particular, seems to be a replica of the Arecibo binary radio message we sent into space decades ago, describing our solar system and showing our appearance. Some of the information, however seems to have been altered to show a different system and a different appearance to the beings inhabiting the planet in question. Coincidence? I think not. Is it so hard to believe that our message would have been received, and this is some kind of response? Why did we send the message in the first place, if we did not hope for an answer?

More about ancient aliens - by Vijaya Schartz
As I am researching the tribes of the Steppes for a medieval fantasy novel in progress, I came upon an interesting fact. The tribes of the Golden Horde when Genghis Khan came to power had many gods, but their principal deity was the sky god Tengri.
According to their creation myths, Tangri terra-formed planet Earth at a time when it was completely covered with water. He balanced the elements, created all life, and gave man a soul. When man died, his soul would return to Tengri's "Fly Away Paradise." What kind of paradise flies away, unless it's a spacecraft?
Lamaism in Tibet has kept many of the remnants of Tengrism alive, and when you add to the mix the mythology of India with their gods waging war in flying chariots of fire and weapons that struck like lightning with sounds of thunder and could melt a city in one blow, it's tempting to come to the conclusion that most religions were started by the arrival of visitors from the stars.
Besides, most of these ancient gods described in details the planets they came from, and pointed at them in the sky. The Dogu Tribes of the southern Sahara believe they came from a star near Sirius, a star which, until very recently, no one knew existed. The Egyptian gods and the Anunaki of Sumeria also came from specific constellations. So did the Katchina teachers of the Hopi tribe in the southwest. So, why is it taking us so long to recognize the evidence left in so many ancient texts?
As for the more and more complicated crop circles demonstrating sophisticated mathematical principles, why are we so quick to ignore them? The messages they contain could not have been designed and even less executed by pranksters. Besides, they appear all over the world. They also form instantaneously when small balls of light are sighted over a field. That, to me, denotes intelligent design, not any freakish feat of nature.
Jesus himself said to his disciples in recently translated Essene texts, "If you believe that my father is the creator god of the Jewish bible, you are gravely mistaken." Which means that even Jesus was trying to explain that there were more than one divine entity, and that the creator of the ancient testament was not his father, not the god in whose name he preached his message of love. That would also explain the various instances of divine cruelty in the ancient testament, which do not seem to align with the preachings of Jesus.
As for romance and love stories among these extra-terrestrial gods, they are very much alive in the ancient myths all over the globe. It seems love is not just a human emotion. It is a universal truth.
So, until the world at large recognizes the ultimate truth, that we are not alone in the universe, you may have to read science fiction. For sci-fi adventure with a romantic slant, I recommend the Chronicles of Kassouk series, available in all eBook formats and in paperback at all online retailers.

ANCIENT ALIENS THEORIES... not so farfetched - by Vijaya Schartz
Have we been visited by alien species in the ancient past? Are we the product of genetic manipulation by technologically advanced ancient visitors in need of labor? Are the gods of so many different Earth cultures aliens who, in ancient times, came down from other star systems to teach, nurture, and facilitate the evolution of the human race? All these questions might seem outrageous to many people
Of course, the mainstream scientists refuse to examine the evidence, and governments are quick to dismiss any theory that doesn't fit the accepted standard. Few have enough courage to tell the world that our history books should be rewritten. But if you research and consider the evidence, it's not farfetched at all.
Ancient texts, like the Mahabarata in India, describe the gods waging war in the sky, flying Vimanas, shooting arrows of light and thunder that destroyed their flying chariots of fire. Ancient cities of India, like Mohanjo Daro, are still radioactive from their destruction by a nuclear blast thousands of years ago.
The ancient Vikings believed their gods came from another world through a rainbow bridge reminiscent of a wormhole. Could Odin, Thor, and the entire Viking mythology be relating events in the past, where powerful beings came to Earth from another planet?
Could it be that the ancient texts we consider as mythology, are actually records of historical events lost in the night of time? Even the ancient testament speaks of beings coming to Earth from the heavens. God came with legions of angels and archangels organized in a very military order... not so different from a modern space fleet.
Why is it that ruins in Puma Punku, in South America, dated 20,000 years ago, show stones cut with a precision we cannot achieve even today with the most sophisticated instruments? The traditions of the local tribes say these were built not by human hands, but by the gods.

Are the structures on Mars left over from an ancient civilization, dating from when the red planet was green with life? What caused its atmosphere to thin and its water to dry up? Is it what will happen to Earth if we are not careful?
I am only scratching the surface here. This world is full of mysteries, and if we bother to investigate them, we might very well discover the secret of our origins, and embrace the fact that we are not alone in the universe.
As a science fiction writer, I find this inspiring, uplifting, and I sincerely hope the people of this world start looking closely at all these clues. Now that we have the technology to analyze the evidence, we should not be afraid of the results. The truth will prevail in the end, so why resist it?
